Adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender equality mutually reinforce aspects of girls’ and women’s well-being. When girls are healthy and safe from gender-based violence, their education, economic opportunities, decision-making power, and sense of agency expand. When they are educated and able to enjoy equal rights, they are better equipped to promote their own health and welfare, as well as that of their family and community.
