In 50 years, the world’s population will reach 10 billion. While the population of sub-Saharan Africa is expected to double, for many countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, it is the aging population and the declining birth rate that are causing concern. What will be the consequences of these demographic trends on our quality of life, our economy, and the environment? Radio-Canada‘s Tout Terrain show presented a two-hour special program on demography on November 9, 2025, featuring several reports from around the world, including insights from line Delacroix, Population Institute Senior Fellow and Director of FP/Earth.
