The Population Institute promotes recognition of population issues by honoring media and legislators that have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to bringing these issues to public attention and presenting reliable solutions to population problem. To this end the Institute annually selects journalists and other media through its annual Global Media Awards and law-makers through its Congressional Leadership Award.

The Institute’s Village Fund program identifies the poorest villages in the developing world and provides them with reproductive health and family planning assistance.
